The time has finally come. Football season is here. With summer coming to an end and team practices underway, fall is right around the corner. This is the moment you have been waiting for since the last game of last season. Think back to the end of last fall, reflecting on all the good games and the bad. The practices you had to be extra tough on the guys, and the games that it paid off. The good calls and the bad calls (by you, not the refs).

The opening game of the season has finally arrived and warm ups are underway. The coaches are reassured in knowing that you all have prepared for this moment, and are as ready you’ll ever be. Your boys are fired up and so is your staff. It is at this very moment when your assistant coach pulls you aside with a worried look on his face.
“The headsets are down,” he says.
The headsets are down? After all the countless hours of preparation, nobody bothered to check the headsets? Something that seemed so miniscule has now thrown your staff completely off and affected your entire game plan.
But this didn’t happen to you, you were prepared. This was the reason you fundraised and purchased those quality headsets. Through rain, snow, or sun, they have always been reliable. Now, more than ever, is the time to dust off the headsets, charge the batteries and test them out. If you are having issues, it may be time to upgrade to a new system or get them fixed through Sideline Power’s refurbishing program.
“The busiest week of the entire year for our company is always the week immediately following the first game of the season. After that season-opener, our office is flooded with calls from panicked football coaches who experienced sideline equipment problems,” said Matt Starr, CEO of Sideline Power. “You never want to operate out of desperation like that. Not during the season when you have football games to focus on.
“Now is the time of year that coaches need to pull out their sideline communications systems out of the storage room, clean all the equipment, check all cords, inspect all plugs and connections, and most importantly, test the headsets.”
Acting soon will pay off, ensuring that any new or refurbished equipment can be ordered and delivered well-before your first game. Sideline equipment and in-game communication systems are arguably the most-important tools that a football coaching staff depends on during games.
This is what we have all been waiting for. It is the most exciting time of the year. Don’t give you or your staff any additional stress once the season-opener rolls around. Do what coaches are notorious for, and be over-prepared.
